TWITTER: Pembunuh Blog

Assalamualaikum wbt.

Paling lama pun satu hingga dua minit sahaja. Termasuklah saya. *muka bersalah* Why? Because it’s a content-driven world nowadays. Pictures, videos, information, and advertisements are shoved in our faces almost every second we are on the internet. We have dozens of Whatsapp group chats. It jams our brains and makes us become choosy in what we give our attention to. That’s why I will be screenshotting this post and featuring it on my Instagram story, because I know people will be too lazy to actually click on my blog link to read the entry. Kalau tak, korang layan blog style Buzzfeed je (simple, in point form, and visual-heavy).

Tapi entri beliau memang menarik pun. Her posts are full of colourful personality, and most importantly, she updates regularly. Boleh dikatakan Vivy meng-update blog beliau sekurang-kurangnya satu post setiap minggu. Tetapi MENGAPA?

Sebab beliau takde akaun Twitter.

I think, that Vivy is an avid writer, just like me. She posted this quite recently:

I haven’t blogged for weeks and let me tell you, I was one of the grumpiest versions of me. I just cannot… I need to blog, I need to write, I need to pour my creative juice into this Word document. Seeing a blank white space get filled up with this black font, it just excites me and I can already feel my battery being charged. There’s just this sense of belonging when I come to Proudduck, a sense of security and comfort when I write in my blog, and I sometimes wonder at what hour of the day can I steal time to just even write “Hi. Bye.” on my blog.

So I’ll instantly tweet anything that crosses my mind, then keep checking for replies, likes, and retweets for the next 30 minutes. Teruk kan? TT___TT Kalau anak saya nanti macam mana lah agaknya? I hear Facebook is working on technology to read our minds for us so that we don’t have to manually post our status updates. Which brings creepy to a whole new level.

bad-twitter-etiquette

Orang mana tulis entri kat blog dah. Sekarang orang buat thread kat Twitter je. It makes it so easy to take something out of context and misunderstand it. Dahlah susah nak archive tweets / cari balik tweets lama.

Sebenarnya saya dah sangat muak dengan Twitter. Lagi-lagi Malay Twitter. Tak habis-habis bergaduh, bergaduh, dan bergaduh. Bash orang, memfitnah, menghina agama, etc. Pencemaran otak level 70000. Tapi susah sangat nak quit.
